Acute Bronchitis: It is also called short-term bronchitis or chest cold. It is one of the most common diseases in children. It occurs more often in the winter.
Chronic Bronchitis: It is inflammation/swelling and irritation of bronchial tube. These tubes carry oxygen and carbon dioxide to and from the air sacs of the lungs. The irritation of the tubes causes the mucus to build up and this mucus and the swelling of the tubes make it harder for the lungs to move O2 in and CO2 out the body. Most commonly elderly especially people above 40 years are affected.
