There are various reasons for different types of anxiety. Following are the types:
Generalized Anxiety Disorder: There is persistent anxiety about daily activities. The person is excessively worried about the routine issues even the ordinary ones. The worry is out of proportion to the actual circumstance. It is difficult to control and affects the person physically.

Panic Disorder: There are repeated episodes of sudden feelings of intense anxiety and fear or terror which reaches a peak within minutes. These are panic attacks with shortness of breath, chest pain, rapid breathing, increased heart beat or feeling of impending misfortune. These panic attacks may lead to worrying about such attacks happening again in future.
Social Anxiety Disorder: There is high level of anxiety and fear and the person avoids social events due to feelings of self-consciousness or embarrassment. The person has fear of being observed, judged or viewed negatively by others.
Separation Anxiety Disorder: It is a childhood disorder where anxiety exceeds the child’s development level and is related to separation from parents or others who have parental roles.
Anxiety Disorder Due to Medical Condition: There are symptoms of anxiety or panic anticipating some serious health problem such as fear of heart disease, cancer, diabetes, etc.
Agoraphobia: There is a fear of being in public places where there are a lot people such as crowds, closed tight places etc. that causes panic and makes one feel trapped or helpless.
Specific Phobias: They are characterized by intense anxiety when one is exposed to specific object or situation which they want to avoid. Such phobias provoke panic attacks in some people.
Selective Mutism: it usually happens in children where they fail to speak in certain situations such as school whereas they speak very well at home or with other close family members. This can interfere with school, work or other social gatherings or functions.
Substance-induced Anxiety Disorder: It is characterized by major anxiety or panic that are a direct result of taking medications, overusing or misusing drugs, being exposed to toxic substance or withdrawal from drugs.
Specified and Unspecified Anxiety Disorder: In this type, anxiety or phobias do not meet the exact criteria for any other anxiety disorders but are significant enough to be distressing and disruptive.
